Austrian flexible packaging manufacturer Constantia Flexibles Group (Vienna; www.cflex.com) has started up a new solvent triplex laminating machine at its Timashevsk manufacturing site, in the Krasnodar region of Russia. The inauguration of the laminator coincided with the 12th anniversary of Constantia Kuban, the Russian subsidiary of Constantia Flexibles. With an annual capacity of 60m metres, the machine can simultaneously laminate three rolls of different types of material as well as use glues with a wide grammage range.
The new machine is to serve the growing demand in the domestic food packaging industry, including coffee, dairy and processed food.
In February this year, Constantia invested nearly EUR 3m in UV flexo printing machine technology at its site in Wangen / Germany. This site is home to Constantia Nusser, which supplies aluminium-based lids to the German dairy industry.
