Roberto Villaquiran appointed CEO
Portuguese rigid plastic packaging producer Logoplaste (Cascais; www.logoplaste.com) announced the appointment of Roberto Villaquiran as the company’s new CEO. From 2015 - 2017, Villaquiran has been the European CEO of Smurfit Kappa (Dublin / Ireland; www.smurfitkappa.com). Filipe de Botton remains as chairman of the group and Alexandre Relvas remains as a board member.
Prior to that, he held a number of senior positions in Smurfit Kappa and served four years as chairman of the board of European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO). Villaquiran is a dual US-Colombian citizen and received his BA in chemical engineering and MBA from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
Logoplaste operates 60 factories in 16 countries, with more than 2,000 employees. Its production processes include injection and blow moulding, and it has sales of more than EUR 500m. Last year, investment company The Carlyle Group (Washington, D.C. / USA; www.carlyle.com) acquired a 50% stake in Logoplaste (see Plasteurope.com of 25.08.2016).
