Ignacio Marco appointed new CEO of PlasticsEurope Iberia

On 1 January 2017, Ignacio Marco will take over as the new CEO for the Iberian region at plastics producers’ association PlasticsEurope (Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticseurope.org). He succeeds Manuel Ignacio Fernandez, who held the position since July 2013. Upon his appointment, Marco said among the key issues he will focus on during his tenure are the Circular Economy as well as “Zero Plastics to Landfill.”
Marco’s career in the chemicals and plastics industry spans more than three decades and included a number of management positions at ExxonMobil and Repsol. Before joining PlasticsEurope, he worked as director of New Business Development & Innovation at Repsol Quimica – a position that was predated by a seven-year stint as CEO of Repsol joint venture Dynasol.
Throughout his career, the industry veteran has also held a number of positions on the committees of various associations, including PlasticsEurope, Feique (Madrid / Spain; www.feique.org), the European Petrochemical Association (EPCA, Brussels; www.epca.eu) and the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP, Houston, Texas / USA; www.iisrp.com).
