UPDATE - INVISTA
Shanghai-based PA 6.6 plant officially opened
Info: Invista told Plasteurope.com that it has not yet made any progress on its plans for an ADN plant at the site, as originally foreseen.
About six months after starting up its hexamethylene diamine (HMD) plant at China's Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (see Plasteurope.com of 26.04.2016), Invista (Wichita, Kansas / USA; www.invista.com) in late October celebrated the grand opening of the site, which includes a 150,000 t/y PA 6.6 facility. The plant’s output is mostly earmarked for growing demand in China and Asia, the company said.09.11.2016 10:37:42
In response to a Plasteurope.com query, a spokeswoman for Invista said it has not yet progressed with the planned 300,000 t/y ADN facility at the site, which would ensure full backward integration. She added, however, that the company still plans to invest in the site.
The start-up comes about a month after Invista's Engineering Polymer Solutions division was acquired by fellow polyamide producer RadiciGroup (Bergamo / Italy; www.radicigroup.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 16.09.2016.
