Marcus Wittman, head of Window Solutions at Rehau, has been elected the new president of the European PVC Window Profiles and related Building Products Association (EPPA, Brussels / Belgium; www.eppa-profiles.eu), the industry grouping representing European PVC window manufacturers. Wittman previously served as deputy of the association’s former president Tom Debusschere, the CEO of Deceuninck. In his new capacity, he will be supported by his deputy, Andreas Hartleif, chairman of the board at Veka, and a previous EPPA president himself, having led the association from 2011-2015.
Eric Chatelain, secretary-general of France’s profile manufacturers’ association Le Syndicat national de l’extrusion plastique profilés et compounds (SNEP), was confirmed as EPPA treasurer, while Yann de Bénazé (Profine France) and Francis Van Eeckhout (Deceuninck) were also appointed to the association’s board. Other board members include Martin Althorpe (head of the British Plastic Federation’s window profiles group), Götz Schmiedeknecht (Salamander Industrie-Produkte) and Patrick Seitz (Aluplast).
EPPA represents the interests of European profile system houses. The industry is home to about 25,000 employees, who process some 1.4m t/y of PVC into profiles and construction-related products. Annual industry sales exceed EUR 4 bn.
