KLÖCKNER PENTAPLAST
Capacity expansion in Germany / Two new product launches planned in 2016
German films producer Klöckner Pentaplast (kp, Montabar; www.kpfilms.com) is to expand capacity at its plant in Gendorf / Germany to meet growing demand for shrink labels. Work on the expansion, which kp said would have multiple polymer capabilities, will start early in the third quarter of this year with completion scheduled for the first quarter of 2017.
Phil Heyworth, kp’s group vice president Labels, said the additional capacity together with the shorter lead times from local production would provide continued support to customers and the growing market. “The opportunity to create standard and differentiated products, such as more sustainable or digital print receptive film products, will enhance our overall capabilities and manufacturing flexibility,” he said.
The company said it plans to launch two new shrink label film products in 2016 that would address unmet market and customer needs.
