In an effort at meeting rising demand from the home and personal care industries, Constantia Flexibles (Vienna / Austria; www.cflex.com) has announced a EUR 4m investment at its site in Burgos / Spain. The money will go towards a new narrow web printer as well as a narrow web adhesive lamination machine, both due to be installed by mid-2017.
The Austrian group’s Spanish subsidiary Constantia Tobepal also operates a production site in Logrono / Spain and employs a total of about 500 workers. It specialises in the production of foil-based flexible packaging for the pharmaceutical, home and personal care as well as food industries.
Since French holding Wendel (Paris; www.wendelgroup.com) acquired a majority stake in the Austrian group last year (see Plasteurope.com of 07.01.2015), Constantia has made a number of investments and acquisitions, including in Asia and Africa (Plasteurope.com has reported extensively).
