Dispensing systems manufacturer AptarGroup (Crystal Lake, Illinois / USA; www.aptargroup.com) is to acquire German airless dispensers specialist Mega Airless (Villingen-Schwenningen; www.mega-airless.de) for EUR 200m. The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of this year. Mega Airless supplies airless dispensing systems for the beauty, personal care and pharmaceutical markets and has two manufacturing facilities in Germany and one in the USA. The company has projected annual revenues of approximately EUR 61m for 2015 and has achieved EBITDA margins of more than 30% over the last three years, says AptarGroup. Its total workforce comes to about 360.

Steve Hagge, AptarGroup CEO said the acquisition “aligns with our disciplined approach of acquiring well-managed, profitable businesses with innovative technology. Their products and the markets they serve are complementary to our own and we see significant opportunities to leverage AptarGroup’s global network to grow this business.”

Airless dispensers are used to control dosing and preserve formulations across a variety of products.
