This year’s “Chinaplas” plastics and rubber trade fair (www.chinaplasonline.com), held in Shanghai / China from 25-28 April 2016, will once again spotlight the concept of “Greenovation”. Celebrating its 30th edition, about 3,200 exhibitors are expected at the mega plastics event, spread across more than 240,000 m2 of fairgrounds. Organiser Adsale (Hong Kong / China; www.adsale.com.hk) anticipates visitor numbers to reach 140,000 – up from the roughly 128,000 who attended last year’s fair, held in Guangzhou (see also Plasteurope.com of 29.05.2015).
The Greenovation concept will find expression in three concurrent events held alongside the fair. They are the “Second Medical Plastics Conference”, which takes place on 25 and 26 April. A collaboration between Plasteurope.com parent company KI Group (Bad Homburg / Germany; www.kiweb.de) and Adsale, this year’s conference will build on the successful debut in 2015, focusing on medical devices, disposables and pharmaceutical packaging. The two-day afternoon event will include a number of presentations on the highly lucrative but also extremely challenging medical plastics market, and after the success of the 2015 edition, will feature even more speakers and a larger audience space. There are still a few speaker and sponsorship options left.
The second feature event at this year’s fair will be the “Industry 4.0 Conference”, organised by Adsale and the German association for plastics and rubber machinery VDMA Kunststoff- und Gummimaschinen (KuG, Frankfurt; http://kug.vdma.org). Leading global plastics machinery producers, including Arburg, Engel and KraussMaffei, as well as electric appliance manufacturer Haier will be presenting their know-how and technologies aimed at improving productivity, efficiency, quality and automation. The topic is of particular interest in China, where the government has launched the “Made in China 2025” programme that promotes industrial automation to help local companies remain globally competitive.
The last of the trio is the “Design X Innovation” series of events, consisting of a display gallery, an open forum featuring presentations by a range of global experts and a number of interactive activities. Launched in 2015, Adsale will once again be partnering with global chemicals giant BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) on the event, which showcases how design and plastics technology can drive innovation.
To facilitate the successful sourcing of buyers, Chinaplas will once again be organised around 16 theme zones. They are: Additives, Automation Technology, Auxiliary & Testing Equipment, Bioplastics, Chemicals & Raw Materials, Chinese Export Machinery & Materials, Colour Pigments and Masterbatches, Composites & High Performance Materials, Die & Moulds, Extrusion Machinery, Film Technology, Injection Moulding Machinery, Plastics Packaging & Blow Moulding, Recycling Technology and Rubber Machinery.
For the first time ever, Plasteurope.com will also have a booth at the fair. You can find us at E1-B55. In addition, KI Group and Plasteurope.com will once again be putting together a readers’ trip to Chinaplas, which will run from 23-28 April (for details, visit www.pieweb.com/chinaplas). There is no faster, simpler or more competitively priced way to organise your visit to Chinaplas!
