PLAST EURASIA
Istanbul-based plastics fair sees record number of visitors
The latest edition of “Plast Eurasia” (www.plasteurasia.com), held from 3-6 December 2015 in Istanbul / Turkey, drew 47,306 visitors. The attendance level marks a new record for the 25th edition of the fair – and comes despite the political upheaval in the region and the country’s rather muted overall plastics economy. The previous edition, held in 2014, attracted 43,756 visitors from Turkey and abroad, and in 2011 attendance levels had barely exceeded 30,000. The number of international visitors to the 2015 edition came to 8,269 – also a record figure.
Organisers Tüyap Fairs and Exhibitions (Istanbul / Turkey; www.tuyap.com.tr) and Pagev (Istanbul; www.pagev.org.tr) said the 1,134 exhibitors came from 55 different countries. The fair was spread across 10 halls, measuring a total of 100,000 m2, and included special country pavilions from China, India, Iran, South Korea, Taiwan and the UK.
The next “Plast Eurasia” will take place in Istanbul from 7-10 December 2016.
