JEC 2016
Leading composites event moves to larger Paris fairground / New “JEC World” to be divided into four different “planets”
In response to rising visitor interest, the world’s largest composites exhibition, “JEC” (www.jeccomposites.com), will move to a new venue in 2016. The Paris Nord Villepinte fairgrounds will allow the fair, held from 8-10 March 2016, to expand to 62,000 m2, making room for more than 1,300 exhibitors, organiser JEC Group (Paris / France; www.jeccomposites.com) says. The fair will also be rebranded as “JEC World”.

In line with the new name, next year’s event will receive a new structure, centred on four different “planets” – the Aerospace Planet, the Automotive Plant, the Sustainable Planet and the Sports & Leisure Planet. The new structure will help visitors explore how composites address the main challenges facing the industry today, which according to JEC Group CEO Frédérique Mutel are energy, sustainability and the environment. The country guest of honour will be South Korea, which the organiser says has made a number of breakthroughs in the carbon field especially.
The exhibition will be accompanied by more than 10 conferences and around 600 B2B meetings, and will also once again bestow the JEC Innovation Awards. In addition, the fair will feature a Live Demo Zone, highlighting the advances of automation in the industry. About 37,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day event.
