“PackTheFuture 2015” award bestowed in Paris / Nine plastic packaging products receive prizes
The second “PackTheFuture” awards (www.packthefuture.com), co-organised by Germany’s plastics packaging industry association Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen (IK, Bad Homburg; www.kunststoffverpackungen.de) and the French association of flexible packaging producers Elipso (Paris; www.elipso.org), were held on 25 November during the “Plastic Technology of the Future” conference in Paris.
An expert jury selected 38 potential winners from the 57 companies that had sent submissions to the awards. Under the leadership of Horst-Christian Langowski, head of the IVV Fraunhofer Institute for Process Engineering and Packaging (Freising / Germany; www.ivv.fraunhofer.de), the main jury selected seven companies as winners in three categories – ecological design, product protection and consumer convenience. Langowski said the strong interest in the awards underlines the plastic packaging industry’s innovative power.
