"Plastics Recycling Show" and Petcore annual conference cancelled following Brussels terror alert
The terror threat that is threatening the Belgian capital, which is currently operating under its highest terror warning level of 4, led to a cancellation of the "Plastics Recycling Show“ (www.prseventeurope.com) that was due to take place in the city on 25 and 26 November (see Plasteurope.com of 02.07.2015). Fair co-organiser Crain Communications (UK) (www.crain.com) said it takes the threat very seriously, and would not put colleagues at risk. The recycling show was supposed to also provide the framework for the annual working group meetings of host Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE, Brussels / Belgium; www.plasticsrecyclers.eu). PRE has announced that it intends to reschedule the event for early next year.
The annual meeting of fellow European association Petcore Europe (Brussels; https://petcore-europe.org), scheduled for 24 November, was also cancelled. Association executive director Patrick Peuch told would-be attendees that the cancellation follows the call by the Belgian prime minister to avoid any type of large gathering. Both events are to be rescheduled for a later, as yet undefined date.
