On 1 September, Eric Lundén became the new managing director of Biesterfeld Nordic (Malmö / Sweden), the Scandinavian subsidiary of German distributor Biesterfeld Plastic (Hamburg; www.biesterfeld-plastic.com). He succeeds Jens Imbeck, who will switch to a new position at the parent company’s headquarters.

In his new role, Lundén – who previously oversaw the Scandinavia and Finland businesses at an unnamed globally active distributor – will be responsible not only for the business in Malmö, but also the subsidiary in Hamina / Finland. The German group in December last year took over all the shares in Biesterfeld Nordic, which it used to run as a 50:50 joint venture with Fred Holmberg (Limhamm / Sweden; www.holmberg.eu) – see Plasteurope.com of 11.12.2014.

Commenting on the appointment, Biesterfeld Plastic managing director Carsten Harms said the distributor plans to grow its business activities in Scandinavia and Finland, adding that the group is “very satisfied” with the way the region is currently performing. Lundén said his priority right now is to focus on raising sales in Denmark and Finland.
