Film capacity in Germany increased to meet rising pharma packaging demand
Rigid films and foils producer Bilcare Research (Allschwil / Switzerland; www.bilcaresolutions.com) is expanding its facility in Bötzingen / Germany, to meet growing demand from the pharmaceutical market. The upgrade is part of a EUR 50m investment announced last year.
“With these initiatives we will not only increase capacity, but will greatly enhance work safety, hygiene and environmental protection,” said Andreas Pfefferle, global business unit head pharma packaging innovations at Bilcare Research. He added: “From Bötzingen, we deliver mono-films as well as coated and laminated films from one production site and continuously develop the global pharmaceutical films business further.”
The company announced the purchase of a new site in Singapore last month where it plans to make mono- and barrier films for the pharmaceutical market – see Plasteurope.com of 20.08.2015.
