Aseptic liquids packaging plant to be built in Gujarat / EUR 76m investment / Annual output of 7 bn packs
Indian flexible film manufacturer Uflex (Noida; http://uflexltd.com) is to invest around INR 5.5 bn (EUR 76m) in the first phase of an aseptic packaging material project for packaging liquids at its plant at Sanand Industrial Area in the state of Gujarat.
The facility will produce 7 bn packs annually for liquid products including energy drinks, juices and dairy products. Around 90% of this output will be used in the domestic market.
The first phase of the project is expected to be operational by April 2017 and will employ 250 people. On completion, total employment will reach 3,000.
The company has recently reported a 19% year-on-year increase in net profit to INR 762m for the second quarter of 2015. Sales in the period were up 4% at INR 16.0 bn.
