As part of its long-term strategic growth plan, Danish food packaging specialist Faerch Plast (Holstebro; www.faerchplast.com) plans to build up a network of overseas distributors, targeting what it called an “aggressive expansion” in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, South Africa, the Middle East and Israel. The producer of high-performance plastic packaging for the food industry will focus these growth plans on its dual ovenable CPET containers for frozen and chilled convenience meals as well as containers produced from its “MAPET II” mono-material. The company declined to comment when approached by Plasteurope.com regarding investment costs, timeframe and expected contribution to group revenues.
Faerch Plast’s CPET trays boast a wide temperature tolerance ranging from -20°C to 220°C and are designed for freezer-to-oven or microwave use – for more details, see Plasteurope.com of 20.05.2014. By contrast, MAPET II is designed as a top sealing for fresh meat, poultry and fish and was first introduced in 2012 – see Plasteurope.com of 23.08.2012.
