STOROPACK
Purchase of long-term Japanese trade partner EJ / Said to be country's leading loose fill producer
In a retroactive deal effective 15 October, German protective film producer Storopack (Metzingen; www.storopack.com) has acquired Japan’s EJ (Ebina; www.ej-p.co.jp). Financial details were not disclosed. The latter, which has a workforce of 33, has been Storopack’s trade partner in Japan for many years, selling its paper pads and air cushions. EJ also purports to be Japan’s leading loose fill (packaging chips) producer.
The company is to be integrated into Storopack in the coming months, and will be renamed as Storopack Japan. Frank Imkamp, president Asia-Pacific at the German company and responsible for developing its packaging business in the region, called the acquisition an important strategic step.
