New UHMW-PE project planned in USA / Start-up scheduled for 2016
Brazilian resins major Braskem (São Paulo; www.braskem.com.br) has announced plans to build an ultra-high molecular weight PE (UHMW-PE) plant at its site in La Porte, Texas / USA. Construction work is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of this year and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2016. The company did not provide any details on the plant's nameplate capacity.
