Italian company commences PP compounds production in Brazil

Expanding its activities in Brazil, compounder Sirmax (Cittadella / Italy; www.sirmax.com) has announced that its Sirmax do Brasil (Jundiai, São Paulo) subsidiary – founded last year – in March 2014 began producing PP compounds. A company spokesman told Plasteurope.com that nameplate capacity stands at 8,000 t/y, adding that "a few months after starting production, Sirmax do Brasil got the recommendation for ISO 9001:2008 certificate for the development and production of polypropylene compounds."
Sirmax also operates PP and engineering compounds facilities at group headquarters (50,000 t/y), in Tombolo / Italy (30,000 t/y) as well as in Kutno / Poland (50,000 t/y).
