Belgian PA producer plans to acquire Italian BOPA film manufacturer CFP Flexible Packaging
By means of talks conducted through its Italian subsidiary Domo Chemicals Italia, polyamide producer Domo Chemicals (Gent / Belgium; www.domochemicals.com) is planning to acquire Italian film producer CFP Flexible Packaging (Cesano Maderno; www.cfp-flex.it). The deal still has to meet the approval of the regulatory authorities, but company insiders confirmed to Plasteurope.com that talks are underway. CFP was acquired by holding company Bridgepoint Capital (London / UK; www.bridgepoint.eu) for EUR 131m in 2002.
The Italian producer’s roughly 100 employees turn out mostly biaxially oriented polyamide (BOPA) film as well as PET film for food and healthcare packaging at two plants in Cesano Maderno and Ceriano Laghetto. According to Bridgepoint’s financial report, the company posted sales of EUR 46m in 2012.
