JUSHI
Glass fibre manufacturer ramping up Egyptian output / Expanding exports to Europe / Plans for North American facility
Chinese glass fibre manufacturer Jushi (Tongxiang City, Zhejiang; www.jushi.com) plans to reach full capacity utilisation at its glass fibre plant in Ain Soukhna / Egypt by the end of April, company spokesman Jay Zhuang told Plasteurope.com during the recent “JEC” Composites fair (www.jeccomposites.com) in Paris / France.
Jushi had commissioned the site’s first furnace in late 2013, with first material batches made available in Europe in January – see Plasteurope.com of 06.12.2013. The group’s output in countries like Italy and Spain as well as in Scandinavia is distributed by means of several own trade societies, which have already or are in the process of being founded. In Germany, by contrast, Jushi works together with local distributor Helm (Hamburg; www.helmag.com).
Speaking to PIE, Zhuang confirmed the company’s plans to establish a production site in North America. ”We already have a lot of customers in North America especially,” he said. Regarding a future plant, however, he would not comment further on potential size or a timetable, merely saying the facility would be set up in the near future. With its plant in Egypt, Jushi’s total global glass fibre capacity now amounts to almost 1m t/y, most of which is located at its three Chinese plants.
