Bio-based phthalate-free plasticisers introduced
Oxo intermediates and derivatives producer Oxea (Dallas, Texas / USA; www.oxea-chemicals.com) has expanded its range of phthalate-free plasticisers with the introduction of bio-based products “Oxblue” DOSX (dioctyl succinate) and ATBC (acetyl tributyl citrate). Applications for the materials, which are commercially available in Europe and North America, include food cling wraps, flooring, soft toys, and adhesives and sealants.
Jacco de Haas, Oxea’s global marketing manager for speciality esters, said: “With growing health and image concerns of consumers, producers will find our Oxblue products to be sustainable solutions which enable them to economically manufacture products with no compromise on performance.”
In January, Oxea has announced the plasticisers' capacity expansion in Amsterdam / The Netherlands (see Plasteurope.com of 24.01.2014) due to the growing demand in the flooring and medical devices industry.
