PET packaging specialist APPE (Wrexham / UK; www.appepackaging.com) has introduced a plastic aerosol called “SprayPET” for a variety of personal care and home care products, including creams, shaving gels, sun tan lotions, hair care products, polishes and surface cleaners. The company said that the aerosol provides a lower cost alternative to tinplate or aluminium cans.
The aerosol can be delivered in white or transparent PET, with a range of printing and sleeving options available. The 335 ml unit offers a lightweight construction. Additional pack sizes will follow shortly, APPE said, adding that a variety of shapes and styles can be created to enhance brand image and product differentiation on-shelf.
“SprayPET” can be specified with any standard actuator and APPE is working with Dutch dispenser and closures manufacturer Plasticum (Tilburg; www.plasticumgroup.com) to provide these. A 57 mm gel actuator is currently available and the range will be extended with both foam actuators and spray caps, tailored to the dispensing requirements of different product applications.
Mike Hanratty, business development director at APPE, said: “We believe 'SprayPET' offers a real alternative for manufacturers seeking a unique branding opportunity for their products, thanks to its practical, cost and sustainability benefits combined with the potential for eye-catching designs.”
