Romanian construction materials producer Adeplast (Ploiesti / Romania; www.adeplast.ro) has started up a second production facility for 700,000 m³ of EPS insulation sheet at Oradea / Romania. The EUR 3.2m investment doubles company capacity: It already operates a plant of the same size at Ploiesti and is due to start up a third unit at Roman on northeastern Romania in July.
Altogether, the specialist in adhesives and dry mortar, owned by investor Marcel Barbut, has spent EUR 22m on the three insulation sheet platforms focusing primarily on graphite-reinforced grey sheet. With its expanded portfolio, Adeplast's is to consolidate its position in export markets in eastern and western Europe as well as the Middle East. In the first four months of 2013, exports increased by 49%, Barbut told the Romanian press.
In August 2011, Adeplast bought Zentyss (Buzau / Romania; www.zentyss.ro), a manufacturer of XPS insulation sheet and moved the acquired company’s XPS production this past March to its state-of-the-art facility at Arad. The Zentyss EPS production was moved to Ploiesti.
Adeplast, which reported sales of EUR 41.5m in 2012 and a net profit of around EUR 3m, employs 250 people across Romania.
