BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) and Sinopec (Beijing / China; www.sinopec.com) plan to extend their joint venture operations in Nanjing / China by expanding EO production and building a new plant for neopentylglycol (NPG). The JV, BASF-YPC, is also expanding its acrylics complex by adding acrylic acid and butyl acrylate plants. Production is expected to begin in 2014.
