Takeover of Ciech's TDI business complete
Five months after first announcing plans to acquire the customer base as well as the supply and support activities of Polish TDI producer Ciech (Warsaw; www.ciech.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 16.10.2012 – BASF (Ludwigshafen / Germany; www.basf.com) has announced the successful acquisition of the business. The EUR 43m deal does not include the TDI plant of Ciech subsidiary Zachem (Bydgoszcz / Poland: www.zachem.com.pl).
Following the completion, BASF will now focus on further developing its leading position in the isocyanates market, said Kenneth Lane, senior vice president Global Strategic Marketing and European Polyurethane Basic Products, adding that, “Our highest priority now is focusing on a seamless integration for our customers and our employees.”
