CHINAPLAS
This year's fair will take place in Guangzhou in late May / Visitor numbers expected to continue growing / Focus on environmentally friendly solutions / Plasteurope.com and Adsale will host exclusive B2B conference
Following last year’s mega-event in Shanghai / China – see Plasteurope.com of 27.04.2012, this year’s “Chinaplas” industry fair will be held in Guangzhou from 20-23 May. Asia’s leading plastics and rubber industry event will boast an exhibition space of more than 220,000 m2, consisting of 25 halls. To date, more than 2,800 exhibitors from 36 different countries have booked their space for the event, while there will be 14 country/region pavilions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK and the US. Organiser Adsale (Hong Kong / China; www.adsale.com.hk) expects the four-day event to attract more than 115,000 visitors from 150 different countries. That figure would top the 110,000 people who flocked to last year’s event in Shanghai.

Held under the same motto as last year’s event – “The Future is in Plastics and Rubber” – “Chinaplas 2013” will have a special focus on green technologies. Key foci at the fair will include the automotive, E&E, packaging and building sectors, with a view to environmental protection, safety, sustainable development and recycling. At a recent press conference, Adsale chairman Stanley Chu said that in order to keep up with global trends, Chinese plastics companies have to upgrade and transform themselves and simultaneously explore new applications through increased investment in R&D. Echoing this statement, Fu An, chairman of the Guangdong Plastics Industry Association, encouraged local companies to visit the fair in order to accelerate their efforts at transformation, aimed at promoting economic development and technical innovation while simultaneously optimising their industrial structure.

Whereas last year’s “Future Zone” was dedicated to the automotive industry, this year the focus will be in the building sector, specifically on environmentally-friendly plastic building materials that combine both aesthetic and attractive elements. Also making its debut at this year’s event is the new “Film Technology Zone”, as part of which players will showcase a number of different extrusion lines, winding, measurement and testing equipment as well as printing machines, among others.

Visitors who register online at www.chinaplasonline.com before 15 March 2013 can waive their admission fee. The website also includes exhibitor information as well as the “Chinaplas 2013” app.

Ahead of the fair, Plasteurope.com and Chinaplas organiser Adsale will host a one-day B2B conference on “Quality OEM Partnership and Environmentally Responsible Packaging”, at the Soluxe Hotel Guangzhou on 19 May.
