Low molecular weight SMA copolymers added to “Xiran” range
Plastics, modifiers and speciality chemicals producer Polyscope (Geleen / The Netherlands; www.polyscope.eu) has introduced two lower molecular weight grades to extend its existing portfolio of “Xiran” styrene maleic anhydride (SMA) copolymers – see Plasteurope.com of 28.06.2010.

The company claims that the new SMA grades bring a number of key benefits for formulators, including easy processability of adhesives, faster and more stable processing of composites, improved and more durable colours in coating and paints and enhanced printing properties in paper, with a higher quality end-result in the print. Current and new applications that will benefit from the materials include filler, tackifier and pigment dispersions, formaldehyde-free binders, super-plasticisers for concrete, adhesion promoters, crosslinkers and matting agents, Polyscope said.
