Distribution deal with Italy's Franceschetti Elastomeri for TPEs and compounds
Nordmann, Rassmann (NRC, Hamburg / Germany; www.nrc.de) has started distributing Franceschetti Elastomeri’s (Corte Franca / Italy; www.f-franceschetti.it) thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs). The “Marfran” product range includes both S-TPEs (styrene block copolymers) based on SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) or SEBS (styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene) as well as O-TPEs (olefinic blends) based on PP/EPDM. Several grades have been okayed for food contact by the FDA, NRC says, adding that others have been optimized for usage with other specialty polymers. This latter characteristic is particularly appropriate for 2-component applications, including toothbrushes (hard and soft components).
Irrespective of the different product categories, Franceschetti Elastomeri and NRC also offer customer-specific serial solutions. Aside from Marfran, the agreement with NRC also includes highly impact-resistant compounds exhibiting good flowability, which are marketed under the “Irfran” trade name.
The distribution arrangement applies to Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavia.
