Portuguese packaging firm to build new US production facility / “Hole in the Wall” concept
Portuguese rigid packaging producer Logoplaste (Cascais; www.logoplaste.com) is building a new USD 31.5m plant in Kansas City, Missouri / USA to supply plastic bottles to US consumer chemicals group Procter & Gamble (P&G, Cincinnati / Ohio; www.pg.com), several local news sources report. The 200,000 square-foot (more than 18,500 m2) facility employing 80 people will receive more than USD 1.65m in tax credit and USD 92,500 in recruitment aid from the state government.
Founded in 1976, Logoplaste specialises in on-premise (“hole-in-the-wall”) operations, supplying bottles “just in time” for clients in the food and beverage, personal care, household care, and oil and lubricant sectors. The company has 350 machines installed at 60 plants in 18 countries worldwide.
