Ron Marsh to retire from RPC Group from October 2013 / Pim Vervaat will become new CEO
Chief executive Ron Marsh is to retire from Europe’s leading rigid plastics packaging supplier RPC Group (Higham Ferrers, Rushden / UK; www.rpc-group.com) with effect from 1 October 2013. He will be replaced from the same date by current finance director Pim Vervaat.
Marsh led the buy-out of RPC in 1991 and has been the chief executive since its flotation in 1993. Vervaat joined RPC as finance director in 2007, having previously worked as divisional finance director of the Distribution and Building Systems division of Corus.
The two executives worked closely to drive RPC’s 2010 rationalisation programme, together with the subsequent acquisition and integration of Superfos after its purchase in February 2011 – see Plasteurope.com of 23.02.2011. They will now, according to a group statement, “ensure an orderly transition of the chief executive role” over the next 12 months.
