PET packaging specialist invests in Swedish plant
Plastic packaging specialist Petainer (Peterborough / UK; www.petainer.com) has announced a multimillion euro investment package over the next 12 months to strengthen its PET container manufacturing plant in Lidköping / Sweden. The project includes the purchase of a new Husky "HPP" injection moulding machine as well as additional investments focused on future growth and customer support. The group said the goal of the financial injection was to promote sustainable eco-friendly products. Earlier this year, Petainer had unveiled what it called its "greenest ever" refillable bottle, manufactured using more than 25% post-consumer "one-way" recycled PET – see Plasteurope.com of 10.02.2012.

In line with the further expansion plans, Petainer has appointed Philip Sanner as new group sales and marketing director. He will lead the regional sales group in developing new markets and identifying new territories. Petainer CEO Nigel Pritchard said he was convinced Sanner would “complement our current team and support our strategic drive."
