Agreement to acquire extrusion dies specialist EDI / USD 200m deal expected to close in Q3
Precision dispensing company Nordson Corporation (Westlake, Ohio, USA; www.nordson.com) has agreed to acquire Extrusion Die Industries (EDI, Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin / USA; www.extrusiondies.com) for an estimated adjustable purchase price of USD 200m. The purchase is set to close during Q3, pending the relevant regulatory approval. Once completed, EDI’s 317 employees will become part of Nordson's Adhesive Dispensing Systems segment. The Chippewa Falls-based company with operations in Cologne / Germany and Shanghai / China had been part of the portfolio of investment firm Bertram Capital (San Mateo, California / USA; www.bertramcapital.com) since early 2011 – see Plasteurope.com of 11.01.2011.
“EDI participates in the large and growing global plastics processing equipment industry, and is a clear fit with our strategy of acquiring companies that provide differentiated precision technology at a key part in the supply chain to deliver profitable long-term growth,” said Nordson president and CEO Michael F. Hilton.
