Chinaplas 2012 in Shanghai / Visitor numbers will hit the 100,000 mark
After breaking all previous records in terms of visitor and exhibitor numbers as well as exhibition space last year – see Plasteurope.com of 10.06.2011 – the “Chinaplas” plastics and rubber trade fair (www.chinaplasonline.com) looks on course to top its own records at this year’s event, held from 18-21 April in Shanghai. As final preparations for the mega-fair get underway, organiser Adsale Exhibition Services (Hong Kong / China; www.adsale.com.hk) reports that more than 2,600 exhibitors from 35 different countries have already signed up. The event will boast 13 country/region pavilions from Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the UK as well as the USA.

Visitor numbers are also expected to rise, hitting the 100,000 mark this year. So far, Adsale says, overseas visitors from more than 120 different countries have already made use of the online pre-registration, with the top 10 origin countries being India, Taiwan, Pakistan, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Iran, the USA, the Philippines and Brazil – testifying to the fair’s growing international importance.
Ahead of the event, organiser Adsale has drummed up interest among key end user associations and says it has met with huge interest not only from regional Chinese groups but also foreign organisations to organize buyer groups for Chinaplas. Anticipating a virtual storm of visitors on the fair’s opening day, only pre-registered guests will be allowed to enter Entrance Hall 1 on both 18 and 19 April before 11 am. Visitors can pre-register on the fair website.
Considered Asia’s leading plastics showcase and the world’s second largest plastics fair – after the “K” mega-event in Düsseldorf / Germany - almost 95,000 visitors and more than 2,400 exhibitors attended last year’s Chinaplas, held in Guangzhou.
