High thermal conductivity PA-based compound introduced
Lati Industria Thermoplastici (Vedano Olona / Italy; www.lati.com) has introduced a PA 6-based compound that combines thermal conductivity with high self-extinction and fire resistance performance for applications in the electrical and electronics industry. “Laticonther” 62 CEG/500-V0HF1 has fire resistance UL certification (V0 at 1.5 mm, glow wire flammability index [GWFI] 960°C, and 775°C GWFI at 1 mm) and has a halogen-free formulation.

Projects undertaken with the grade include an electronics box developed by Saplast (Muggiò / Italy) that uses the thermally conductive compound to remove heat generated by power transistors and other electronic components. Cooling is achieved through the support wall of the box, which has large fins to ensure correct heat exchange.
