Röchling Engineering Plastics (REP, Haren / Germany; www.roechling.com) has acquired north Italian machining specialist Leder Orago (Gozzano; www.lederorago.it). The company has become part of Röchling’s high-performance plastics machined components business unit.
Leder Orago has 46 employees and an annual turnover of around EUR 5m. Commenting on the acquisition, Willy Bölscher, director of the machined components business unit, said: “Leder Orago represents for us a good platform for further expanding our business in Italy. The good technical equipment of the company as well as the high degree of competence of management and the staff offer a very good basis for further future growth. With a global market share of more than 7%, Italy is the fourth largest manufacturer of mechanical engineering products in the world and thus for us an important sales market for machined components made of plastic.”
The newly-acquired company is located close to a Röchling Machined Plastics facility, which has been operating a machining business for thermoplastics and composites in Arcisate, northern Italy, since 1994.
