Solvay in new US high tech polymers deal
Solvay (Brussels / Belgium; www.solvay.com) plans to acquire Mississippi Polymer Technologies (MPT, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi / USA; www.mptpolymers.com), an independent high tech polymer manufacturer that has commercialised a new family of specialty transparent amorphous materials under the trade name “Parmax”. Solvay said the move, which complements its plans to acquire the polymers division of India´s Gharda Chemicals, will further expand its portfolio of ultra-performance polymers. The Parmax SRP lines as well as the Indian polymers activities are to be integrated into Solvay Advanced Polymers at Alpharetta, Georgia / USA.
