Speciality chemicals and food ingedients company IMCD Group (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.imcdgroup.com) has announced the opening of a regional headquarter in Singapore and the appointment of Albert Stevens as vice president of Asia. He joined IMCD in January 2011 as general manager for pharmaceutical and personal care for the Benelux region. IMCD is a leading distributor for plastics and other markets with a strong position in Europe and Australia.
The regional office in Singapore will oversee the corporate and business strategies in the Asia-Pacific region, where IMCD is already active in five countries – China, India, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand – generating an annual turnover of EUR 150m. The Singapore location is a further step in strengthening its position in this region, IMCD confirms in its latest press release. As part of its expansion plan, IMCD has opened two laboratories in Asia earlier this year; a coatings lab in Mumbai / India and a personal care lab in Glenmarie Shah Alam, Selangor / Malaysia.
