New hygiene film plant inaugurated in Egypt
Germany’s RKW Group (Frankenthal; www.rkw-group.com), which bills itself as Europe’s leading manufacturer of high quality PE and PP films, has inaugurated its new USD 30m plant for hygiene plastic films in Egypt’s "City of 6th October", near Cairo – see Plasteurope.com of 18.01.2011 – on 10 November 2011.
The 10,000 t/y facility, which will initially employ 40 people, will be located near Procter & Gamble’s Egyptian diaper plant and will be operated by subsidiary RKW Egypt. The first manufacturing stage will include a state-of-the-art embossing calender and an extrusion line, the company said.
Worldwide, RKW is running 21 production sites at the moment and employs 2,800 people.
