This year’s biannual “Saudi Plastics and Petrochem” (www.saudippp.com) trade fair will be held from 28 November to 1 December 2011 in Riyadh / Saudi Arabia. The event will coincide with “Saudi PPSG” (www.saudisigngraphics.com), the 10th International Packaging, Printing, Sign and Graphics Technology Exhibition.

The event is a must for those interested in the plastics industry in the Middle East, says organiser Riyadh Exhibitions Company (REC, Riyadh / Saudi Arabia; www.recexpo.com), especially since the region’s plastic industry is predicted to grow by 30% a year amid substantial investments. REC adds that Saudi plastics demand is largely driven by the food and beverage packaging sector, household and consumer goods, the construction industry as well as medical applications. The organiser also points towards recent surveys that indicate that at 40 kg, Saudi Arabia is the highest per capita plastics consumer in the region – making it an appropriate venue for the fair.

The last time Saudi Plastics and Petrochem was held in 2009, some 462 exhibitors from 30 different countries showcased their goods.
