German plastics closure manufacturer Bericap (Budenheim; www.bericap.com) is closing in on the Argentine market. In September 2011, the company announced the formation of Bericap Argentina, located in Buenos Aires. The new plant, scheduled to start production in January 2012, will turn out Bericap’s “DoubleSeal Supershorty” closures. In response to a Plasteurope.com query, a company spokeswoman said the group would not disclose any more details about the facility at this point in time.

The new office is to cooperate closely with Bericap’s facility in neighbouring Brazil. The German group says it made its first foray into the Latin American market in 1998.
