Polish injection moulder opens Ukrainian subsidiary / Plans to more than double processing capacity
At the beginning of September 2011, Polish injection moulder Plast-Box (Slupsk; www.opakowania.plast-box.com) officially inaugurated its new subsidiary in Ukraine. Located in Chernikhiv, about 150 km north of the capital Kiev, the new 5,400 m2 facility houses nine large injection moulding machines, a warehouse as well as administrative and technical facilities.

Altogether 75 workers have found employment at Plast-Box Ukraine (Chernikhiv), a number set to increase to 100 once the group receives another 21 new injection moulding machines. Given today’s infrastructure, the Ukrainian subsidiary is able of processing 3,000 t/y of PP and HDPE, a figure set to more than double to 7,200 t/y once the new machinery is delivered.
Plast-Box Ukraine turns out a wide range of round and oval buckets, earmarked mostly for the local chemical and food industries. In addition, the company also produces boxes and DIY products and has plans to install a separate line for the manufacture of baskets, trash bins and other household products.
