Distribution agreement with Rodenburg Biopolymers
IMCD Plastics (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.imcdgroup.com) has entered into a global agreement with Rodenburg Biopolymers (Oosterhout / The Netherlands; www.biopolymers.nl) for the marketing and distribution of Rodenburg’s “Solanyl” biopolymer range. The polymers can be processed by injection moulding, sheet extrusion, thermoforming and blow moulding.
Family-owned Rodenburg has a background in modifying biobased materials and has been developing biopolymer solutions over the past ten years. It operates a production facility with a capacity of 65,000 t/y. The company said its third generation “Solanyl” range is now ready for large scale market adoption. “IMCD has the right network and expertise to accelerate time to market,” said general manager Thijs Rodenburg, “We were impressed by their customer service levels, product knowledge and their responsiveness to market. Joining forces means the ability to offer customers a wide biopolymer granules portfolio with good product availability and a reliable support that goes beyond simple technical assistance.”
