RADICI
PA 6.6 for high temperature auto applications
RadiciGroup Plastics (Bergamo / Italy; www.radicigroup.com) has introduced “Radilon” A RV350 HHR Blk PA 6.6 engineering plastic, which is claimed to offer improved properties after heat ageing compared to traditional polyamides and can be used as a replacement for metal or special polymers.
Developed for high temperature operation in under-the-bonnet applications, the 35% glass fibre-filled PA 6.6 material is produced using technology that Radici says significantly reduces the deterioration of mechanical properties in hot air at temperatures of up to 200 °C. The company said the material is suitable for use in components such as intercooler trays, turbo manifolds and turbo resonators.
