YANTAI WANHUA
New MDI line starts up in Ningbo
Yantai Wanhua Polyurethane (Yantai, Shandong / China; www.ytpu.com) on 22 December 2010 officially commissioned a new MDI line. The 300,000 t/y plant is located in a complex that include formaldehyde, aniline and sodium bicarbonate. The company had begun construction of the facility in 2007 – see Plasteurope.com of 02.11.2007. The group now reportedly commands about 800,000 t/y of MDI in China.
Following the start-up, Yantai Wanhua has made it into the top 5 global MDI manufacturers. The group reportedly is continuing its efforts to acquire a European PU foothold by taking over Hungary’s BorsodChem – see Plasteurope.com of 09.08.2010.
