New Polyurethanes Systems House in Tianjin to better serve northern Chinese market
Just a few months after announcing plans to open a new Systems House in Chongqing / China – see Plasteurope.com of 12.04.2010 – German chemical giant BASF (Ludwigshafen; www.basf.com) is further strengthening its commitment to the Chinese market. After recently having signed a memorandum of understanding with the local government authorities, BASF has announced that it is building a new Systems House in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area, scheduled to be operational in 2012. The new house will mainly serve the market in northern China.
Upon completion the Tianjin facility will be integrated into BASF’s global network of what are currently 38 systems houses. The Ludwigshafen-based group already operates system houses and development centres in Shanghai and Nasha. Once the two new facilities in Chongqing and Tianjin are completed in 2012, the group says it will be able to offer “a complete state-of-the-art, all-inclusive service network extending to all geographical corners of China”.
