Kurt Bock named designate chairman of BASF's board of executive directors / Leadership change to take place in May next year

As May 2010 drew to an end, the supervisory board of German chemical giant BASF (Ludwigshafen; www.basf.com) announced that it had appointed Kurt Bock the designate chairman of its board of executive directors. Bock will take over the position from incumbent Jürgen Hambrecht at the end of the annual meeting on 6 May 2011. The supervisory board also announced that Martin Brudermüller, currently responsible for the group’s Performance Polymers, Polyurethanes and Styrenics divisions as well as the Asian region, would become the board’s vice chairman on the same date.
