Service provider acquires Fischer and Kubra Plastics
Industrial service provider Eriks (Alkmaar / The Netherlands; www.eriks.com) has acquired plastic components producer Fischer (Laupheim, Ulm / Germany). Fischer, which has production facilities in Laupheim and Arnstadt, Thuringen / Germany, manufactures high performance plastic parts for the equipment manufacturing market supplying the food and pharmacy, chemical and electronics industries. The company employs 130 workers in Laupheim and 20 in Arnstad. The deal was agreed on 6 May 2010.
On 29 March 2010, Eriks acquired Kubra Plastics in Nuenen / The Netherlands, part of MCB International (Valkenswaard / The Netherlands). In 2009, Kubra, which markets and customises plastic products and services, reported sales of around EUR 4.5m. The acquisition strengthens Eriks’ presence in industrial plastic semi-finished products, machined products and injection moulded parts in the south Netherlands.
Eriks currently consists of more than 50 companies with operations in 24 countries, particularly in western Europe and in the Middle East. It also has a presence in south-east Asia, the US and Nigeria. It reported sales of EUR 994m in 2009, with a workforce of over 5,073 people.
