Engineering Polymers business establishes a foothold in China
On the heels of expanding its commercial and technical abilities in China, polymer and fibre manufacturer Invista (Wichita, Kansas / USA; www.invista.com) has launched an engineering polymers business in the People’s Republic. The US group said the new business is aimed at meeting the growing Chinese demand for nylon 6.6.
The group said it is extending to China a model developed by its Engineering Polymers division in North America last year, as part of which it will commission a network of independent local compounders to help it achieve its goal of developing “a fully integrated engineering polymers business in China”, as Engineering Polymers executive vice president Kurt Burmeister put it.
The business would also allow it to widen its activities in post-industrial recycling, Invista said, adding that doing so would help China meet its growing demand for recycled materials.
